Mitch Stetter has joined Mark DiFelice and Josh Wilson as players who have been sent down to AAA. The Brewers have also declined the options on Francisco Rodriguez and Yuniesky Betancourt. The overhaul of the roster has begun.

Bodog Has the Odds on Fielder’s Destination
This is kind of funny so I thought I would share. I think Prince should put 10 million on the Crew and re-sign. Thank you Bodog for giving us a sweet way to get the big dude back.
Cubs 3-1
Nationals 5-1
Mariners 5-1
Blue Jays 5-1
Orioles 5-1
Brewers 11-2
Rangers 7-1
Cardinals 15-2
I think the first 6 are somewhat reasonable. The last 2 are ridiculous.
Casey McGehee & Prince Fielder Say Goodbye
So after it was all over Sunday night, it made sense that McGehee sat in front of his locker struggling to control his emotions. Of course he clung to a spit bottle like a life preserver, his eyes filling with tears as he talked about Fielder.
How do you say thank you? How do you say goodbye? He didn’t know. And at nearly the exact moment McGehee pondered that thought, Fielder began making his way to the clubhouse door to head home. Along the way, he stopped in front of McGehee’s locker, and the two men embraced for several seconds. “I love you,” McGehee said, sobbing.
With that, Fielder was gone. He headed down a Miller Park hallway, his sons by his side, the youngest dragging along the life-sized Monsters Inc. mascot Sully that had become the “Beast Mode” rallying point this year for the Brewers.
Back in the clubhouse, McGehee tried to put it all in perspective.
“Outside of my family,” he began, his words cracking, “there aren’t too many other grown men I would tell them that I love them and truly mean it. He’s one of a kind.”–ESPN.com
That is some pretty cool stuff. I wonder how much emotion will play into the decision Prince has to make when deciding his future.
Thank You Brewers-I Wish I Could Smack Your Ass and Tell You Good Game (Season)
OK. So the Brewers lost to a team I hate. It stings but I will get over it. This is the wrong place if you want to hear me whine about it or complain about the team in any way. The amount of fun they gave me this year was ridiculous.
Thank you Mark A. and GMDM. Thank you RR and staff. Thank you team.
Good luck Craig Counsell. I hope you stick around on the coaching staff. Goodbye Yuni. I and a few others appreciated you.
To the Cardinals fans jacking around on the Brewers fan pages. I wouldn’t do it but if that is “your thing” I giggle at you just a little bit. You should find a better way to spend your time in my opinion. Maybe figure out how to get your alcoholic windbag manager home tonight without driving drunk again. That would surely make the world a better/safer place.
Prince Fielder I have enjoyed watching you play a bunch. If you decide to stick around that would be sweet. If not good luck to you. I really mean it. If you do choose to leave please forgive/ignore the ass bag “fans” who say bad things about you. No one can ever say you were not a classy team player without sounding like an idiot.
I look forward to see the changes that the Crew makes this off season. They will probably be somewhat major. Perhaps a 1B and probably a new SS and half of a new bullpen. I will be watching and I already can’t wait for the spring.
Game 6 Lineup
I could not be less superstitious as a person. However I am not stopping any of you. Put on all your “lucky” gear and wear your hat backwards……make sure your left sock is blue. (or whatever your thing is) I will not mock you today. Shaun Marcum goes to the mound in the biggest game of the season without the full support that he deserves. I support him fully and believe of the reasonable available options he is the best choice. Here is your lineup for today.
RF Corey Hart
CF Nyjer Morgan
LF Ryan Braun
1B Prince Fielder
2B Rickie Weeks
3B Jerry Hairston Jr.
SS Yuniesky Betancourt
C Jonathan Lucroy
RHP Shaun Marcum
Lineup Game 5
3B Jerry Hairston Jr.
LF Ryan Braun
1B Prince Fielder
2B Rickie Weeks
SS Yuniesky Betancourt
CF Carlos Gomez
C Jonathan Lucroy
P Zack Greinke
CF Jon Jay
1B Albert Pujols
RF Lance Berkman
LF Matt Holliday
3B David Freese
C Yadier Molina
2B Nick Punto
P Jaime Garcia
Randy Wolf Comes Up Huge
Randy Wolf came up with a huge effort when the staff and the club needed it. Hell- even the Milwaukee fan base needed it. The TBS crew did an awesome job of pointing out that the two HR’s allowed were on good pitches. The goofy suited reporter in the crowd also predicted before the game that fairly routine fly balls to right would find the seats due to the wind. The truth is Wolf was awesome.
Ron Roenicke’s decision to go with Jerry Hairston Jr. at third base in the post season continues to pay off as he continues to pound the ball and play a nice defensive game.
By winning this game the Crew made it in effect one last 3 game series against the Cards….. with two of the games at Miller Park………for a chance to go to the World Series.
Wolf went 7 strong innings and calmly earned his first career post season victory. I just give him a ton of credit for the performance he produced in this game. Not that I want to make a habit out of praising the announcers but they also finally provided a reasonable explanation of why Wolf has a problem with catcher Jon Lucroy. The way they explained it Wolf likes to get in a grove and when Lucroy calls the game he has to shake him off a lot and it throws him off. I have always been a bit miffed by that situation and that explanation seems pretty reasonable.
The bottom of the order came up big tonight getting RBI from George Kottaras and Yuniesky Betancourt. That is and will be needed with the Cards correctly pitching around Prince Fielder.
I want to give the manager some credit for the timely defensive replacements late in the game as well. Carlos Gomez and Craig Counsell both made good plays in the field. Lucroy also blocked a few F-Rod balls in the 8th as well.
Game 5 tomorrow night features a pitching match up of Zack Greinke and Jaimie Garcia. I am expecting a big performance from Greinke and I can hardly wait.
Lineup Game 4-Kotsay in Again
My perceptive friend Lisa thinks their is something wrong with Corey Hart. Maybe she is correct. It would not be the first time she sleuthed something out. Either way I am much more comfortable with Kotsay in RF rather than in CF.
CF Nyjer Morgan
RF Mark Kotsay
LF Ryan Braun
1B Prince Fielder
2B Rickie Weeks
3B Jerry Hairston Jr.
SS Yuniesky Betancourt
C George Kottaras
P Randy Wolf
Shocking Lineup Change
A day after Ron Roenicke implied that Carlos Gomez would replace Nyjer Morgan in CF for defensive purposes he actually makes the exact opposite decision. Mark Kotsay is starting in CF tonight. After watching Albert Pujols and others pound the ball into the gaps time after time Monday night this makes me a little nervous. I guess I am going to just have faith that the manager has this under control. Kotsay is 4-11 lifetime against Chris Carpenter.

This One Is Funny
Knock knock.
Who’s there? Jeff. Jeff who? Jeff Suppan…………

Former Milwaukee killjoy Jeff Suppan is scheduled to toss out the ceremonial first pitch in St. Louis tonight. Is this a case of St. Louis trying to be funny? I think the Brewers should send a bat boy up there to try and get a hit off of him. I wonder if they will video conference Ned Yost in to discuss how well “Soop” tossed that first pitch.
Rain is forecast for tonight in St. Louis. Hopefully the rain is managed properly and the starting pitchers will not be wasted as that would be a shame. Thank you Bud Selig for being smart and putting a roof on Miller Park. As I sit and curse at St. Louis for not having one tonight I will have a good thought for you.
It is starting to sound like Shaun Marcum will in fact be the starter for game 6. Their has been a lot of speculation that he would be rested for a while. He has been so bad lately that I was hoping for that decision. I guess you just need to believe he will snap out of it. Apparently Ron Roenicke does. I just hope it isn’t a case where he is just worn out and his arm is about to fall off. That is my fear.
