Lineup And Stuff

The Brewers called up Brett Carroll from AAA  to replace Carlos Gomez.  He has a career average of .205 with an OBP of .284.  He has a reputation as a really good defender. (although he is no Gomez)  He is hitting .281 in 93 games at Nashville this season.  He has 15 home runs down there which is a bit shocking considering he has 5 career major league HR’s in 319 plate appearances.  Reports of the Brewers being interested in Carlos Beltran continue to float around out there.  I do not see it.  Of course I didn’t see the F-Rod or Greinke trades coming either.  Ten days left of the major trade rumors.  I am still wondering who they will add rather than if they will add someone.

Their is a site called cool standings that calculate the records and statistic’s and produce a probability of a team making the playoffs.  They give the Crew a 33.7% shot at making the playoffs as of today.  That is slightly less than Pittsburgh and almost 4% greater than the Cardinals.

St. Louis already won today so they are 1.5 games out.  Pittsburgh is off and out .5 going into tonight’s Brewers game.  Here is the lineup.

RF Corey Hart
CF Nyjer Morgan
LF Ryan Braun
1B Prince Fielder
2B Rickie Weeks
3B Casey McGehee
SS Yuniesky Betancourt
C Jonathan Lucroy
P  Zack Greinke
